Hi, I’m Jen.
Based in Boulder, Colorado.
Many of you may know me from Lucky’s Bakehouse and Lucky’s Bakehouse Café. For over 30 years, I’ve been immersed in the world of baking and pastries—an area I’m truly passionate about. But my love for food extends well beyond sweets. I’ve also fostered a long-time passion for savory cooking, which naturally led to the creation of the Café and the development of recipes that celebrate the best of both worlds.
Both the Bakehouse and Café have been wonderful sources of joy and inspiration for me. When I’m not crafting in the kitchen at work, I’m usually cooking for friends and family. My husband and I love to entertain—always casual, never fussy, and always a lot of fun.
Now, I’m excited to share those recipes with you, whether they come from the Bakehouse, the Café, or my own kitchen. Welcome to my blog, Boulder Flour Child.
I’m a Boulder native with a deep love for all things French (I lived in France during my twenties) and strong roots in Santa Fe (where my parents live, and my husband is from). My cooking reflects this blend—rustic yet refined. For me, cooking isn’t just about getting food on the table (though we all have those nights). It’s about discovering flavors, stirring up memories, and sometimes taking you on a journey to somewhere unexpected.
